We cannot legislate District 1 into prosperity, but we can certainly set the stage for success.
“The people of District 1 pay the highest tax rate out of their income, work the hardest for their money, drive the furthest across the worst roads to get to work and get told a bunch of empty promises about a better future that will not arrive until someone gets creative and works around our regressive tax system and empliments legislation of empowerment to ensure that success is available for all of Tulsa’s Districts, especially the one consistently left behind. Tulsa has the 16th most regressive tax rate in the nation and likely worse if they factor in the mandatory utility bill that eats away at nearly 10% of the wages of low income workers that are disproportionately residing in our District and they need immediate relief.”
